Knife manufacturing:
The production of machine knives begins with the careful selection of the material. Flat industrial knives are usually made from sheets and plates made of high-quality tool steel. Large circular knives and round knives, as well as rotary shear knives, are manufactured from blanks or round steel. After cutting or milling the shapes, the blanks undergo a heat treatment known as hardening. During this process, it is essential that the distortion of the knife blanks remains low. The blanks are then inspected for distortion and straightened if necessary. Depending on the application, the blanks are ground using surface grinding, internal cylindrical grinding, external cylindrical grinding, or contour grinding. Finally, the machine knives are inspected for dimensional accuracy and carefully packaged.
